Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing issues ranging from fitness advocacy to international security and political values.
On December 21, 2025, Bacon wrote: “Always great to welcome Rob Wilkens, an Air Force veteran and friend. He’s been a senior advisor to the President on Fitness and a great proponent of the Presidential Fitness Award Program for our High Schools.”
Later that day, he commented on U.S. foreign policy toward Taiwan, stating: “I support @POTUS’s decision to send a large quantity of weapons to Taiwan now. We want to deter China from ever invading. China needs to realize an invasion will be costly and will likely fail.” This post came amid ongoing concerns about tensions between China and Taiwan.
On December 22, 2025, Bacon addressed issues of anti-Semitism and Russia’s actions in Ukraine: “I’ll never vote for someone who is ambiguous in their stance against anti-Semitism or who can’t see that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a threat to our long-range strategic interests. I’m a big-tent GOP guy, but anti-Semitism and pro-Putin fetishism are disgusting.”
Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since defeating Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
