Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of tweets on March 8, 2026, addressing both political developments in Washington and International Women’s Day.

In his first post of the day, Bacon wrote: “Thank Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.” (March 8, 2026). Later that evening, he elaborated on his concerns regarding congressional funding decisions: “ICE and Border Patrol are already funded. What Schumer and Jeffries are doing is punishing innocent organizations that are needed right now: TSA, FEMA, Secret Service, Coast Guard, CISA, etc.” (March 8, 2026).

In recognition of International Women’s Day, Bacon also posted: “Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate the women of Nebraska’s 2nd District, my wonderful wife Angie, all the women in our family, and women around the world.” (March 8, 2026).

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
