U.S. Representative Don Bacon, who serves Nebraska’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on social media regarding gerrymandering and the 2024 congressional election results.
On August 3, 2025, Bacon wrote: “While we are in the topic of gerrymandering… https://t.co/MyjcgU1UZ8”. The following day, he responded to feedback about his earlier post by stating: “Since folks say what I posted below was an earlier proposed version, I’ll update it with the actual now that I found it. It is just as bad… https://t.co/PlKAM9SDJ4 https://t.co/ZgU8sRf9eF”.
Later on August 4, Bacon commented on national election results: “I don’t buy this. Congressional Republicans received more votes in total than Congressional Dems in 2024. A modest majority in Congress now reflects the results nationally-wide. https://t.co/1NoTevyuls”.
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017, succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
