Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of statements on November 4, 2025, addressing international affairs and local engagement.
In one post, Bacon drew a comparison between Lithuania and Belarus: “Lithuania’s and Belarus’ GDP were about the same in 1995. One decided to embrace free markets and rule of law. The other embraced Russia. This is one of many reasons why Ukraine wants to be aligned the United States and the West.” (November 4, 2025).
Addressing religious violence in Africa, Bacon stated: “President Trump is absolutely right to pressure Nigeria to do more to protect its Christian citizens from the mass murder by Islamic terrorists. The mass murder is undeniable and the Nigerian government is not doing enough.” (November 4, 2025).
On domestic matters, Bacon invited constituents to participate in a tele-townhall: “TODAY:Â Join me at 6:30 PM CT for a tele-townhall to discuss the shutdown and take your questions. Participate by phone (855-962-1225) or online at https://t.co/hSMEaLPi2P.” (November 4, 2025).
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since defeating Brad Ashford in the 2016 election and taking office in January 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University (1984) and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
