Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 2, 2025, addressing topics ranging from the ongoing government shutdown to personal goals.

In a tweet posted at 19:22 UTC, Bacon shared his recent engagement with local media about the government shutdown, stating, “WATCH: Yesterday I spoke with some of our local reporters about the Democrat Leadership shutdown.”

Later that day at 19:26 UTC, he commented on his personal health journey and referenced his home state: “I’m trying to lose 10 pounds! Nebraska Nice”.

At 20:24 UTC, Bacon posted another tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/S6fdUZ6zsb”.

Bacon has served as the congressional representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
