Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed a range of topics in a series of tweets posted on November 9, 2025.
In his first post at 20:33 UTC, Bacon highlighted the importance of awareness and early diagnosis for a rare hereditary condition: “Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1) is a rare, hereditary condition that can lead to serious lung and liver disease in children and adults. Awareness and early diagnosis are critical for improving outcomes and supporting affected individuals and their families. Alpha-1 https://t.co/k3aGxbm7vT”.
An hour later, at 21:31 UTC, Bacon turned his attention to cybersecurity concerns related to international technology sales: “This is another example why we need strong cyber capabilities and a more capable CISA. China sold busses to Norway that China could turn off remotely thousand of miles away. https://t.co/Goa0SUXecf”.
In his final tweet of the day at 22:19 UTC, Bacon marked the anniversary of Kristallnacht, an event from World War II: “Kristallnacht happened 87 years ago. Synagogues and Jewish businesses in Germany were burned down or vandalized. Never forget. Never again. https://t.co/DgIK9XP3SF”.
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 before also attending the University of Phoenix.
