Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on November 14, 2025, addressing topics ranging from rare disease advocacy to international conflict and local community events.
In his first post of the day, Bacon expressed gratitude for those advocating for Alpha-1 treatment and outlined his legislative priorities: “Thank you to all the Alpha-1 advocates who are trying to find the best ways to treat this rare disease. I support legislation to provide infusion therapies in the home and to do screenings for new borns.” (November 14, 2025).
Later that morning, he welcomed journalist Bret Baier to Omaha and praised Bellevue University’s commitment to military personnel: “Welcome to @BretBaier to Omaha! We love having you here with 70 degree weather. Bellevue University does great job supporting our military and veterans!” (November 14, 2025).
By afternoon, Bacon turned his attention overseas with commentary on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine: “Russia bombs cities and terrorizes civilians. Ukraine attacks military targets and economic ones that fuel the Russian military. The U.S. must do more to stand on the side of freedom, democracy and rule of law in this fight.” (November 14, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion at age 59. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
