Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing identity theft, health care subsidies, and public opinion about a controversial figure.

On September 30, 2025, Rep. Bacon wrote: “Identity theft is rampant and I’d like to see these criminals put behind bars.” He followed this post with another message regarding health care policy: “ICYMI: Already existing ACA subsidies were increased dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic under former President Joe Biden and were meant to be temporary.” Later that day, Bacon commented on public reaction to Nick Fuentes by stating: “99% of Americans don’t care what Fuentes thinks. We stand with Erika, a bereaved widow of a murdered husband. Good riddance to Fuentes.”

Rep. Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon earned his BA from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also graduated from the University of Phoenix.
