Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed international and domestic issues in a series of posts on November 18, 2025.
In one post, Bacon commented on the situation in Iran: “Executions are surging in Iran as they crack down on pro-democracy protestors. But, don’t tell the dumb pro-Hamas protestors in the U.S.” (November 18, 2025).
Turning to Russia’s war against Ukraine, Bacon wrote: “The Russian Orthodox Church should forcefully condemn Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the bombing of innocent citizens, the murdering of Ukrainian POWs and the kidnapping of 20,000 Ukrainian children. The Church should be the spiritual conscience in Russia not a facilitator.” (November 18, 2025).
On healthcare policy within the United States, Bacon stated: “The time for political talking points on healthcare is over. The Unaffordable Care Act’s premiums have gone up on average by 80%. We must find some bipartisan measures to alleviate costs on our citizens. Partisan solutions will fail.” (November 18, 2025).
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and represents Nebraska’s 2nd District. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
