Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing both international and domestic issues.
On March 9, 2026, Bacon announced his upcoming appearance on CNN to discuss recent developments related to Iran: “Live shortly on @CNN with @jaketapper to discuss the latest on Iran. Tune in!”
Later that day, he addressed a tragic incident involving a school bombing in Iran and called for transparency in investigating the event: “We must investigate the tragic school bombing in Iran. Let’s learn the truth and be transparent & honest. We know America did not intentionally target a school. What should be our goal? We want an Iranian government that represents its people, seeks peace with its neighbors, &”
In another post from March 9, Bacon discussed his interactions with young Eagle Scouts and criticized negative remarks about them: “I meet many new Eagle Scouts. They’re some of our sharpest youth. Many join the military academies and thrive. Denigrating the Scouts is dumb.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
