Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from IRS responsiveness to foreign policy and staff changes.
On August 1, 2025, Rep. Bacon posted concerns about the Internal Revenue Service’s handling of refunds for his constituents: “The IRS (@IRSnews) owes #NE02 constituents tens of millions of dollars, and at best is very slow and unresponsive. We have constituents who are owed money going back 3 years. There has to be serious IRS reforms and housecleaning. What I’ve seen the last couple of years,” he wrote.
Later that day, Bacon paid tribute to a longtime colleague on his House team: “I’ve worked w/ Pat Flood since he was a Lt Col at Ramstein in 2009. He’s been a member of our House DC team on day one, 3 Jan 2017. He’s an absolute superstar, helping us get 38 bills signed into law. We bid him a farewell as he moves to the private sector. Pat has a lifelong” (August 1, 2025).
In another post dated August 2, 2025, Bacon commented on Russia’s actions in Ukraine: “Russia invaded an innocent neighbor and is committing war crimes every day, bombing Ukrainian citizens. Any nation propping up Putin’s criminal actions earned secondary sanctions. Any country economically helping Russia should pay a painful price.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963.
He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
His recent posts reflect ongoing constituent service issues with federal agencies as well as positions on international affairs.
