Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on August 27, 2025, addressing both his staff’s engagement with local veterinary research and responding to a tragic event that occurred at a house of worship.

In an early post that day, Bacon highlighted his office’s efforts to stay informed about agricultural safety: “My staff toured the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center to learn about their work to protect Nebraska’s livestock producers from disease. Our staff also learned about the University’s membership in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network. I’m pleased to cosponsor https://t.co/dCi3xUBDYT” (August 27, 2025).

Later, as news emerged regarding an attack at a house of worship, Bacon expressed support for those affected: “As we wait to hear more details, we offer our prayers to the families of any possible victims, prayers for healing to those who are safe, and prayers for the first responders.” (August 27, 2025).

Following confirmation of casualties and injuries from the incident, Bacon shared condolences: “Angie and I are deeply saddened by today’s tragic events. Two precious young lives were lost, with several others seriously injured in this horrific attack on a house of worship.
