Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account on September 19, 2025, covering topics from military service to free speech and economic policy.
In a post at 03:14 UTC, Bacon shared an image with Congressman Brian Babin from Texas and wrote: “TBT. I’m standing with Congressman Brian Babin from Texas. Air Force and Ramstein AB veterans. Aim high! Happy 78th Birthday to the U.S. Air Force. @RepBrianBabin https://t.co/EvZXQsHqqD”
Later that morning at 03:44 UTC, Bacon addressed constitutional rights, stating: “The First Amendment protects our freedom of speech, of the press and much more. This is inviolate. I gave my oath to defend it. That same Amendment also gives us the right to shame hate speech. The government must protect free speech, but we can all criticize the ugliness.”
At 11:26 UTC, Bacon commented on trade policy and consumer prices: “WaPo: ‘Reps Bacon and Khanna will introduce bill to kill coffee tariffs.’ Coffee prices are up 21%. It doesn’t make sense to put tariffs on something our country does not even grow. All it does is raise the cost of coffee for American consumers.”
Bacon has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Brad Ashford as representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
