Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his official X account on November 7, 2025, addressing political opponents, international affairs, and constituent services.
In an early morning post, Bacon criticized a former congressional candidate: “This morally vacuous guy ran for Congress twice in heavy GOP districts and lost. Thank you Lord.” (November 7, 2025).
Later that day, he commented on religious violence in Nigeria and the role of former President Donald Trump: “President Trump is right to pressure the government of Nigeria to do better in protecting their Christian community from Islamic terrorists. The massacres against the Nigerian Christians must stop.” (November 7, 2025).
Addressing local concerns amid a federal shutdown, Bacon reassured constituents about ongoing support: “Despite the shutdown, our team is here to help NE-02 residents with issues they are facing with federal agencies. Agencies may have slower response times & minimal staffing, but we can still submit requests & advocate on your behalf.” (November 7, 2025).
Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University and later from the University of Phoenix.
