Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues of partisanship and international affairs in a series of social media posts on September 9 and 10, 2025.
On September 9, Bacon wrote, “I’m a Christian and an American before being partisan. The shirts vs skins mentality is hurting our country.” Later that day, he posted another statement emphasizing his foreign policy views: “No appeasement of Hamas. No appeasement of Putin. No cover-ups on Epstein. America must stand for freedom, allies, and truth. Why are the Hamas leaders getting fat in Gaza while the hostages are starving?”
The following morning, Bacon commented on recent developments involving Russia and Ukraine: “Russia continues to escalate in its failed invasion of its neighbor, Ukraine. The Russians flew multiple drones over Poland, and many were shot down. The Administration’s policy towards Russia is weak and vacillating, and Putin is taking advantage of it.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
