Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of messages on December 5, 2025, addressing topics from law enforcement appreciation to international military strategy and preparations for the upcoming World Cup.

In his first post at 18:25 UTC, Bacon expressed gratitude for local police officers following a violent incident: “We thank our law enforcement officers for protecting our community every single day. Praise God that all are recovering from this violent act. We greatly appreciate every single cop who preserves law and order, and who takes dangerous people off our streets and neighborhoods.”

Shortly after, at 18:30 UTC, Bacon commented on recent defense policy documents: “One thing that stands out in the new National Military Strategy is that it is 10X more critical of Europe than Russia.”

Later in the evening, at 19:10 UTC, Bacon referenced the countdown to an international sporting event: “Just 188 days until the 2026 World Cup in North America! As Co-Chair of the Congressional Soccer Caucus, we’re working to ensure this major global event runs smoothly and safely for everyone involved!”

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
