Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared several posts on his official X account on September 12, 2025, addressing national security and health advocacy.
In an early morning post, Bacon commented on presidential leadership: “We expect more spine from our President .” (September 12, 2025).
Later that day, he addressed recent military developments involving Russia and Poland: “One drone may be a mistake. Nineteen Russian drones flying over Poland is not a mistake.” (September 12, 2025).
In the evening, Bacon turned to public health issues and thanked an advocacy group for their recognition: “Thank you @IGANFoundation for recognizing our office’s work to support kidney health advocates. We must protect and nurture our organ donor programs. I lost my mom to kidney failure from lupus and I’ve seen firsthand how these vital programs help people thrive.” (September 12, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
