Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on March 12, 2026, addressing anti-Semitism and the challenges faced by local law enforcement in prosecuting offenders.
In one post dated March 12, 2026, Bacon commented on recent incidents by stating: “Another vile anti-Semitic attack. We must admit as a nation that we are not immune from this demonic evil that is a problem all over the globe. We see this evil growing here. This is why we should have zero tolerance for all anti-Semitism anywhere and everywhere, to include both”.
Shortly after, he expressed concern about resources available to local officials: “Our local officials lack essential resources to effectively prosecute offenders. The bipartisan HIRRE Prosecutors Act would provide support through the DOJ, helping to stabilize police departments and strengthen local attorney offices responsible for prosecuting cases.”
Bacon reiterated his stance against anti-Semitism later that day: “Another example of why we should have zero tolerance for anti-Semites. I don’t want them in our party, our churches and wish none were in our country.”
Bacon has served as the congressional representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
