Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to highlight concerns about U.S. policy toward Russia and the importance of information technology in military operations.
On April 2, 2026, Bacon referenced a bipartisan letter sent to the White House by himself and Representative Gregory Meeks of New York. In the tweet, he quoted Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty: “.@RFERL: In a bipartisan letter to the White House last week, Republican Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska and Democrat Gregory Meeks from New York warned that easing pressure on Russia at a critical moment ‘risks fueling Russia’s aggression and undermining progress’ in”.
Later that day, Bacon posted another message linking to an external resource without additional commentary: “https://t.co/FJwAvVEnWT” (April 2, 2026).
In a subsequent tweet on April 2, 2026, Bacon emphasized the significance of network reliability for military readiness: “We conduct operations, pay our warfighters, and execute missions on the networks we have. Our IT has never been more important. If the networks don’t work, nothing else will.
