Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed international security concerns and domestic issues in a series of posts on December 14, 2025.

In his first post at 13:54 UTC, Bacon commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ambitions in Eastern Europe, writing, “Chancellor Merz is right. Putin won’t stop with Ukraine if he succeeds there. He wants his old empire back. Putin’s neighbors who love their freedom and independence know this and look to the U.S. and Western Europe for strong leadership. This is our late 1930s moment.”

Later that day at 14:24 UTC, Bacon expressed support for Secretary Rubio’s stance against anti-Semitism, stating, “Thank you Secretary Rubio for strong stance against this anti-Semitism.”

In a third post at 15:39 UTC, Bacon reflected on the current political climate in the United States by calling for a change in tone and approach: “Yes, we need a return to normalcy… decency… self-control and restraint… and some consensus building.”

Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
