Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared a series of tweets on July 4, 2025, addressing various topics from his past experiences to current political issues.
In a post reflecting on his past military service, Rep. Bacon shared a throwback image from 2008 featuring his Strategic Communications Team in Iraq alongside General Petraeus. He posted “TBT: our Strategic Communications Team in Iraq in 2008. And… with General Petraeus.”
Commenting on recent political developments, Rep. Bacon criticized Sen. Bernie Sanders for attributing the closure of a hospital to a bill that has not yet become law. He expressed his disbelief by stating “This is ludicrous. The bill is not even law yet and Socialist Bernie blames it for the closing of a hospital today.”
Addressing international relations, Rep. Bacon urged President Biden to reconsider the current policy towards Russia amidst ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He emphasized the need for stronger measures by saying “Mr President, your policy towards Russia is not working… We and our allies must arm Ukraine to the teeth & we need the toughest sanctions.”
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA and furthered his education at the University of Phoenix.
