Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his views on trade policy, collegiate sports, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On November 15, 2025, Bacon commented on recent changes to U.S. tariff policy: “The Administration realizes tariffs are causing higher prices & are rolling them back. This is a wise. Again, I think Congress would support tariffs on isolated countries who are unfair with us. But a broad trade war raises costs on our consumers.” [November 15, 2025].
Later that day, Bacon referenced the University of Nebraska’s Volleyball team in another post: “I think the University of Nebraska’s Volleyball team had a hand in this!” [November 15, 2025].
In an additional post regarding international affairs and Russia’s actions in Ukraine, Bacon stated: “Russia has bombed over 900 hospitals and other medical facilities. It is a war against civilians. Putin is guilty of crimes against humanity.” [November 15, 2025].
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
