Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several legislative and social issues in a series of posts on November 5, 2025.
In one statement, Bacon discussed the future of tax credits: “The vast majority of Republicans know that we can’t let these tax credits just expire. We are committed to getting these tax credits extended.” (posted November 5, 2025).
On the same day, he emphasized his support for specific federal programs during potential government shutdowns: “I support bills that still support SNAP and pay our military even in the midst of a shutdown.” (posted November 5, 2025).
Bacon also commented on antisemitism in American politics: “I see a rising element of antisemitism on the far right. As an American who respects everyone, especially our Jewish Americans, I disavow antisemitism that comes from both the right and the left.” (posted November 5, 2025).
Don Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
