Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several international and military topics in a series of tweets posted on August 27, 2025.

In an early morning post, Bacon referenced military leadership culture: “Military leadership principle: ‘Lead from the front, except at the chow hall.’” (August 27, 2025).

Later that day, he commented on U.S. relations with Greenland and Denmark amid unspecified allegations: “If the allegations are true, this behavior is really dumb.

Greenland and Denmark are our allies. They’ve always been willing to have more U.S. bases and rare earth mineral mining cooperation. Pressure from the U.S. is unnecessary… in fact it is harmful.” (August 27, 2025).

Bacon also directed criticism toward Exxon regarding its business activities in Russia: “To Exxon: Stay out of Russia. Don’t help prop up their war economy.” (August 27, 2025).

Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
