Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 10, 2025, addressing political violence and ongoing support for Ukraine.
In a tweet at 18:26 UTC, Bacon wrote: “We have to stand on the right side of this issue and be on the side of freedom. It is not conservative to appease Putin nor is it conservative to have a lack of moral clarity of who is at fault for this war. It is not a conservative position to embrace isolationism.”
Later that day, at 19:24 UTC, Bacon commented on an incident involving Charlie Kirk: “I am deeply saddened by the shooting of @charliekirk11 while exercising his First Amendment right on a college campus. I hope the perpetrator is swiftly brought to justice. Political violence has no place in America.”
At 21:38 UTC, Bacon highlighted Congressional action regarding military assistance to Ukraine: “The House just overwhelmingly voted to continue providing military support to Ukraine by a 372-60 vote.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
