Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his social media account on October 15, 2025, addressing issues ranging from international conflict to public health awareness.
In a post published at 00:47 UTC, Bacon commented on the ongoing war in Ukraine, stating, “The Russians have bombed over 910 individual Ukrainian hospitals and clinics since this war has started. Why? Because Putin wants to kill and terrorize civilians. Mr President, send our friends the Tomahawk missiles!”
Later in the day, at 14:20 UTC, Bacon highlighted his support for women’s health initiatives, writing, “I supported Ovarian and Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month in September. Early detection, research funding, and quality healthcare access remain critical for the thousands of women and families affected by these diseases.”
At 14:54 UTC, Bacon addressed the situation in Gaza, referencing a Wall Street Journal report. He posted, “Free Palestine… From Hamas. WSJ: ‘Hamas is violently cracking down on rivals in Gaza. Firefights and public executions are raising concerns about a spiral of internecine violence.'”
Bacon, who was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion, has a background that includes graduating from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix. He succeeded Brad Ashford as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district.
