Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several topics on his social media account on October 7, 2025, including U.S. policy on Ukraine, Hispanic Heritage Month, and the anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack in Israel.
In a post published at 14:53 UTC, Bacon criticized the Biden administration’s approach to Ukraine, stating: “The restrictive rules of engagement being imposed by this Administration on Ukraine are similar to Biden’s restrictions. We criticized Biden’s restrictions then, and we shouldn’t have similar restrictions now.”
Later the same day, at 15:31 UTC, Bacon highlighted Hispanic Heritage Month and recognized a local family for their contributions. He wrote: “Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, I honor the Suarez-Delgado family for their legacy of hard work, service, and community support. A true inspiration! #HispanicHeritageMonth”
At 16:05 UTC, Bacon reflected on the second anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel. He stated: “On October 7, 2023, the world witnessed unimaginable evil. Hamas terrorists brutally murdered 1,200 innocent men, women, and children in the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Many were tortured, raped, or burned alive, and approximately 20 hostages still”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
