Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several national security and foreign policy issues in a series of posts on March 16, 2026.

In a post referencing U.S. support for Ukraine, Bacon stated, “It sounds like our Isolationists of the 1930s. Putin is an evil individual, I just wish our President could see that with some clarity. No one wants to send US troops, but our weapons and intelligence support can break Putin’s will to continue the invasion.” (March 16, 2026).

Responding to criticism from a user named Gary regarding Congressional action, Bacon wrote, “Gary, I know you are a smart guy, but you are obviously ill informed on what I’ve tried to do to force a vote. Please block me so you don’t have to read my social media. Your comments actually undermine the goal of getting Congressional action.” (March 16, 2026).

Later that day, Bacon thanked local news outlet KETV and journalist Bill Schammert for hosting him on their program Chronicle to discuss Iran. He posted: “Thank you @KETV & @BillSchammert for hosting me on Chronicle to talk about Iran. I appreciated the chance to discuss the war in more depth, the threat Iran has posed to Americans, the impact of the conflict, the role of Congress, and more.” (March 16, 2026).

Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
