Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, shared several posts on August 18, 2025, addressing weather services, international strategy, and a historical anniversary.
In one post, Bacon highlighted collaboration with another lawmaker to improve weather services in tornado-prone regions: “I appreciate the partnership with @USRepMikeFlood in making this happen. We both know that ‘tornado alley’ needs a great weather service.” (August 18, 2025).
Later the same day, he commented on foreign policy with a brief statement: “A ‘Peace Through Capitulation’ Strategy.” (August 18, 2025).
Bacon also marked the anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States by posting: “On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was officially ratified, granting women the right to vote. Today, and every day, we remember and honor the many women who broke barriers and fought for equality for all.” (August 18, 2025).
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
