Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on September 10, 2025, to express support for the Baltic Security Initiative and continued Department of Defense assistance to Ukraine.
In a post at 17:55 UTC, Bacon stated, “We need to make a very clear statement today to our Allies in the Baltic states and to NATO and to Russia. Strong support for the Baltic Security Initiative is a vote for deterrence and an eventual peace.”
Later that day at 18:01 UTC, he posted opposition to an amendment seeking to defund Department of Defense support for Ukraine: “I stand today in strong opposition to this amendment to defund DoD support for Ukraine. At 18:02 UTC on the same day, Bacon highlighted historical suffering endured by Ukrainians under Russian rule and condemned ongoing violence: “Ukrainians have suffered under Russian rule for many years to include four million Ukrainians purposefully and with malice starved to death in the 1930s. Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University (1984) and the University of Phoenix.
