Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted legislative efforts and office updates through a series of posts on his social media account.
On March 30, 2026, Bacon addressed concerns about veterans being targeted by fraudulent actors, stating, “Our veterans should never be targeted by bad actors trying to profit off their hard-earned benefits. The Veterans Benefits Information Protection Act takes a commonsense approach to crack down on predatory practices and protect veterans from exploitation.” Later that day, he announced bipartisan collaboration with Rep. Chris Pappas: “I’m pleased to join @RepChrisPappas in introducing this important bipartisan legislation to safeguard the benefits our veterans have earned. The following day, Bacon informed constituents of a temporary closure at his district office due to a service outage: “Due to a service outage, our district office is closed today. We anticipate reopening tomorrow by 1:00 p.m. CT. Our Washington, D.C. office remains open and available to assist you at (202) 225-4155.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
