Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently posted several updates on his official social media account. Bacon, who succeeded Brad Ashford and resides in Papillion, Nebraska, used the platform to inform constituents about upcoming events and share his positions on key issues.
On July 12, 2025, Rep. Bacon announced an upcoming town hall meeting via a tele-townhall format due to high interest from constituents. In his message, he stated: “Join me for my second townhall of the 119th Congress on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 6:30 PM CT! Due to high interest, we’ll be using a tele-townhall format. Later that day, Rep. Bacon addressed the topic of anti-Semitic speech by affirming both free speech rights and his own position against such rhetoric. He wrote: “You have a right to anti-Semitic speech, but we have a right to totally reject and denounce it.” (posted July 12, 2025).
In another post on July 12, Rep. Bacon highlighted benefits for small businesses contained within the Reconciliation Bill. He shared: “Lots of wins in the Reconciliation Bill for small businesses. Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 before further studies at the University of Phoenix.
