Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Nebraska’s 2nd district, addressed issues related to congressional authority over tariffs and his ongoing commitment to his role in a series of posts on July 22, 2025.
In one post, Bacon referenced the Constitution’s assignment of tariff powers to Congress, stating: “Article I in the Constitution makes it clear Congress has tariff authority. Bacon also commented on his tenure in office: “I have a year and a half left in this job and I’m going to make sure I run through the tape.” (July 22, 2025).
Addressing military infrastructure in Nebraska, he added: “Before we leave we’re going to make Offutt the Manhattan of military bases.” (July 22, 2025).
