Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several updates on his social media account on December 19, 2025.
In one post, Bacon expressed support for commentator Ben Shapiro, stating “I’m a @benshapiro fan. I appreciate his strong and right message.” (December 19, 2025).
Shortly after, he shared another message: “Don Bacon is on board!” (December 19, 2025).
Later the same day, Bacon commented on recent developments within the U.S. Coast Guard: “After 11 months vacancy it is good that we now have a new Commander of the Coast Guard. Congrats to Admiral Lunday. Long term vacancies in key positions is harmful.” (December 19, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Brad Ashford in the 2016 election and taking office in January 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion at age 59. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
