Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on December 21, 2025, addressing foreign policy and international alliances.

In one post, Bacon wrote, “You’re on Putin’s and Hamas’ side then.” (December 21, 2025). Shortly after, he commented on the Secretary of State’s position regarding current events by stating, “The Secretary of State knows better. This is 1938 all over again if we stick our head in the ground.” (December 21, 2025). He also addressed the contributions of European allies in Afghanistan: “It is true… our European Allies fought on our side in Afghanistan. And they paid in blood and treasure. Too many idiots ignore this.” (December 21, 2025).

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
