Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several national issues in a series of tweets on December 18, 2025.
In a post referencing an interview at the Reagan National Defense Forum, Rep. Bacon offered his view on the Trump administration’s new National Security Strategy. He wrote on December 18: “.@BreakingDefense: In a Dec. 6 interview at the Reagan National Defense Forum, Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) delivers a blunt assessment of the Trump administration’s new National Security Strategy, calling it a throwback to ‘1930s foreign policy.'”
Later that day, Bacon highlighted his support for efforts to commemorate those lost in the September 11 attacks at the Pentagon site. On December 18 he posted: “Great to meet with @Sept11PMFund to learn more about their effort to create a memorial to honor the 184 lives lost and an education center so that we Never Forget. The Pentagon is the only 9/11 attack site without a dedicated place to tell its story, and I support changing that.”
In another tweet from December 18, Bacon commented on rising antisemitism in academic environments: “There’s been a significant increase in antisemitism at college campuses over the last two years. It is totally reprehensible and we want to do better to protect our students. I will not be a bystander when it comes racism.”
Don Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and later from the University of Phoenix.
