Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues ranging from redistricting standards to Russia’s foreign policy and actions in Ukraine through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 4, 2025, Rep. Bacon commented on responses to a national discussion about redistricting by stating, “Based on all the ‘X’ responses, it looks like the left activists want this to be the national standard for redistricting.”
Later that day, he addressed tensions between NATO and Russia following remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bacon wrote on August 4, 2025: “I guess Putin wants the Pershing missiles returned to NATO. He thinks temper-tantrums will pave the way for regaining territories of different nations that want nothing to do with Russia.”
Continuing his focus on international affairs, Bacon posted again on August 5, 2025 about economic and diplomatic measures against Russia. He stated: “It is very important to isolate Putin’s Russia economically and diplomatically. Their economy should be driven to its knees because of their invasion of independent Ukraine and daily bombing of Ukrainian civilians.”
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
