Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska’s 2nd District has released a statement regarding the reported agreement between Israel and Hamas. Bacon said, “We are all hopeful that the hostages still being held by Hamas will finally be released, which is long overdue. They have been abused, physically and mentally, and we need to get them home as soon as possible. This reported agreement to the first step in President Trump’s peace agreement between Israel and Hamas is very welcome and celebrated. I pray that the rest of the agreement will be decided upon soon.”

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since 2017, succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon earned his BA from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also graduated from the University of Phoenix.
