Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 26, 2025, addressing both international relations and local funding issues.
In a tweet published at 14:35 UTC, Bacon criticized recent U.S. diplomatic actions toward Denmark and Greenland, stating: “This was totally unnecessary. Denmark is one of our best NATO allies, and Greenland welcomes more U.S. military presence, and joint business ventures on mining rare earth minerals. The Danes served with us in the Middle East. This has been self-defeating diplomacy by the U.S.”.
Later that day at 15:28 UTC, Bacon announced progress on a domestic issue concerning youth programming funds: “Success! Kids Camp received the $275,000 that was appropriated and promised them… but which was frozen by OMB.”
A third tweet at 16:57 UTC included only a link without additional commentary: https://t.co/NjkTqzWWBB.
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
