Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Nebraska’s 2nd district, addressed topics related to Ukraine, U.S. defense leadership, and condolences for fallen soldiers in a series of posts on December 13, 2025.
In his first post at 16:25 UTC, Bacon drew a historical parallel regarding policy toward Ukraine: “Forcing Ukraine to give more of its territory to make peace with Russia is not a Reagan move, but a Chamberlain one. Chamberlain did the same to Czechoslovakia with Hitler. His reputation will always be sullied because of it. 70% of Americans stand with Ukraine. We must stand”.
Nine minutes later, at 16:34 UTC, Bacon referenced commentary from the Wall Street Journal about Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s understanding of former President Ronald Reagan’s policies: “WSJ Editorial Board: Secretary of Defense has a few things to learn about Ronald Reagan. https://t.co/McSBFtIMa1”.
An hour afterward, at 17:33 UTC, Bacon offered condolences following reports of casualties among soldiers and an interpreter: “Our condolences and love to the families and friends of the killed soldiers and interpreter. May the attackers be held fully accountable. We pray for full recovery of the wounded. https://t.co/9UWA6kLe9F”.
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He earned degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
