Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several international and domestic issues in a series of posts on October 6, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Bacon commented on Ukraine’s recent military actions against Russian infrastructure: “How do you say “FAFO” in Ukrainian? Because they’re telling that to Putin with their strikes on Russia’s gas and energy production. Russia’s invasion and nightly bombing of cities are coming home to roost.” (October 6, 2025).
Later that day, he drew attention to violence against Christians in Africa, writing: “The mass murder of Christians in Nigeria and Congo are horrific and our government must directly and immediately engage with both governments. Both are doing too little to protect these innocent and vulnerable populations from roving Islamic terrorists.” (October 6, 2025).
Bacon also discussed congressional budget negotiations alongside fellow lawmaker Mike Flood: “We, to include @USRepMikeFlood voted for a clean, short CR to continue funding at previous year’s spending levels. This is bipartisan. It is still Joe Biden’s budget.” (October 6, 2025).
Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 before earning another degree from the University of Phoenix.
