Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several statements on his social media account addressing recent political events and public figures.

On September 13, 2025, Bacon commented on the response of Utah Governor Spencer Cox to a high-profile incident, stating, “Governor Spencer Cox from Utah has been superb handling the Charlie Kirk assassination. He speaks the truth and is unifying. We are Americans first.”

In another post later that day, Bacon criticized Secretary of Defense Hegseth for his remarks, writing, “SecDef Hegseth with some disgusting comments. He is an empty suit.”

Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion, Nebraska. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
