Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of posts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account commenting on national political figures and ongoing legislative discussions.
On November 6, 2025, Bacon criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s approach to negotiations, stating: “For Senator Schumer it is more leverage that he is looking for. Terrible.” Earlier that same day, Bacon commented on House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ appearance with Fox News anchor Bret Baier: “I just listened to @BretBaier and I don’t think Leader Jeffries actually answered a question.”

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University and additional studies at the University of Phoenix.
