Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, made several statements on March 31, 2026, regarding Russia’s actions in Ukraine and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his first post of the day, Bacon wrote: “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is one massive string of human rights violations and war crimes. Putin will receive justice either in this life or certainly in the next.” (March 31, 2026).
Later that day, he commented on Russia’s military situation: “Russia has lost more territory the last 3 months than in the last 3 years. Russia is losing over a thousand soldiers a day. Putin is desperate.” (March 31, 2026).
In a third statement posted that evening, Bacon addressed Americans who support Putin: “Putin lovers in America… seek help. Putin is a grimy old dictator murdering people.” (March 31, 2026).
Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
