Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, expressed concerns on social media about America’s stance toward Russia and Ukraine in a series of posts on December 5, 2025.

In his first post at 04:00 UTC, Bacon stated, “It is a shame we’ve undermined our credibility in Europe. America should always be an advocate for freedom, free markets and rule of law. Appeasing Russia and its invasion of Ukraine is not wise nor right.”

Shortly after, at 04:06 UTC, he referenced public opinion data by posting, “Gallup Poll shows Americans want a stronger policy supporting Ukraine and opposing Russia. Appeasement towards a bully does not work.”

Later that day at 14:14 UTC, Bacon addressed India’s geopolitical position in relation to Russia with the statement, “Count yourself and the great country of India fortunate that you don’t share a border with Russia. You’d feel 180 degrees differently if the case.”

Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
