Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing concerns about Russia and national security policy.

On December 10, 2025, Bacon cited a recent poll to highlight American perceptions of foreign threats: “According to Reagan Institute poll, Americans rate Russia as the #1 enemy to the United States. Our National Security Strategy largely ignores Russia and that gaping hole makes it a bad strategy.”

Continuing his commentary on December 11, 2025, Bacon questioned former President Trump’s stance on Russian governance and corruption: “When was Russia’s fair election? Does President Trump know that Putin kills his rivals? Does President Trump know that Russia has much higher corruption and that Ukraine is indicting their guilty ones? Most Americans know the truth of this war and are appalled at the President’s”

Later that same day, Bacon commented on bipartisan efforts in Congress regarding defense legislation: “My colleagues in the House have demonstrated that when we cooperate, we can pass bipartisan legislation that benefits our national security. Once again, we have maintained the trust of the American people by passing the annual defense authorization. There are significant”

Bacon has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
