Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared a series of updates on legislative actions related to defense and cybersecurity via social media on July 15, 2025.
In a post made at 15:03 UTC, Bacon announced the adoption of several amendments to the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by the House Armed Services Committee Republicans. He stated that “.@HASCRepublicans just adopted my 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th #FY26NDAA amendments directing DoD to provide strong security enhancements to DoD mobile communications and updates on EW management systems, advanced EW analog electronics, and spending reforms for cybersecurity upgrades.”
At 15:13 UTC the same day, Bacon posted another update regarding wildfire mitigation efforts at a military installation. He wrote that “.@HASCRepublicans just adopted my 8th #FY26NDAA amendment of the day directing a strategy and estimate to mitigate the risk of wildfires at the U.S. Air Force Academy.”
Later, at 15:32 UTC, Bacon emphasized the importance of equipping cyber warfighters with appropriate resources. He commented that “Our cyber warfighters must have the tools to fight across all domains on the battlefield. The Cyber & Innovation Subcommittee’s #FY26NDAA package prioritizes testing & evaluation through digital processes, supports R&D of novel technologies, & improves the DoD’s cyber practices.”
