Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on August 20, 2025, detailing his recent meetings with local organizations and discussions on legislative initiatives.
On August 20, Bacon wrote about meeting with representatives from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), stating: “Today I met with local reps from @NAIFA and discussed several bills they are supporting, including H.R. 3289, which would establish a commission on fiscal responsibility and reform.” This bill aims to address issues related to fiscal responsibility through the creation of a dedicated commission.

Later in the evening, he provided an update on another meeting: “Had a great meeting yesterday with Jim Timm from the NE Broadcasters Association to discuss AM Radio in dashboards and the EAS System.”
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s 2nd District representative since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon is currently 59 years old and resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
