Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from military funding to constitutional authority and organ donor programs.
On September 8, 2025, Rep. Bacon raised concerns about the allocation of the U.S. Air Force budget, stating, “.@usairforce is underfunded. Most don’t realize approx 20% of their budget is sent to national intel organizations not associated with the AF. The other services have 1% of their budgets transferred. The result is that the AF is not keeping up with the needs to deter China &”.
In another post on September 9, 2025, he commented on a recent court decision regarding tariffs and executive power: “I agree with the Appeals Court. The intent of the Constitution is for POTUS to work with Congress on tariffs, not for the Executive Branch to be the sole decision maker. Specifically the Constitution gives tax & tariff authorities to the Legislative Branch. Congress would support”.
Later that day, Rep. Bacon highlighted his support for organ donor programs and shared a personal story: “We must protect & nurture our organ donor programs. People are thriving because of these vital programs. I lost my mom to kidney failure caused by the terrible disease lupus and I’m grateful for the important work of @IGANFoundation.

Rep. Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963.
He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
