Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district since 2017, shared a series of updates on social media regarding recent legislative actions and policy support.
On September 16, 2025, Rep. Bacon addressed the renaming of military bases previously named after Confederate figures. He stated, “Congress voted in a bipartisan manner to change the names of military bases named after Confederates. The President vetoed it & Congress overwhelmingly overrode the veto. The new names were of Medal of Honor recipients, heroes like Eisenhower & names recommended by Gold Star”. This post highlighted both Congressional action and the bipartisan nature of the vote.
Shortly afterward, he posted a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/id9R7EDZln” (September 16, 2025).
Later that day, Rep. Bacon expressed support for college students’ access to telehealth services for mental health care. In his tweet from September 16, 2025, he wrote: “Ensuring our college students can maintain their healthcare with their family doctor via “tele-health” will be an important addition. I support @USRepMikeFlood’s College Students Continuation of Mental Health Care Act. https://t.co/nympVcaPFG”.
Rep. Don Bacon has served as a member of Congress since defeating Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion, Nebraska. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
